The YE Team

When Gregg Cole and Mark Lange, former Executive Director, of the Edward Lowe Foundation began to uncover significant revelations in their research of small business data, they knew it was information that had be further explored and developed.

Seeking a resource to support and expand their findings on second-stage businesses, Cole and Lange enlisted the services of the NETS Database. Initially intending to publish reports on entrepreneurships, the sheer volume of unique data generated by NETS soon made it clear to the team that the foundation could have greater impact by creating an actual tool for use by economic developers and researchers.

And so, YourEconomy.org was created.

It followed months of discussion with economic developers, numerous returns to the drawing board, and the writing of masses of computer code, created in partnership with developer Eric Vines. But the rapid success of YE since its launch, and the recognition received by high level sources nationwide speak to the valuable resource that the team has developed and the unique role it fills.

Together with Donald Walls of Walls & Associates – president and developer of NETS - Cole, Vines and Lange have created a resource that continues to grow in scope and depth, meeting the needs of researchers, strategists and communities across the country.

Supporting second-stage business entities has been of particular focus and interest to the team. Today, with new funding sources, they are expanding into greater data development and the leveraging of NETS to create new datasets to track high-growth companies in both the second and third stages of business development.
